Ekrem developed enthusiasm on making ceramic works since he was young. Once he discovered in the Topkapi Palace of Turkey the Chinese Characters of “Jing Dezhen” at the bottom of an art piece on display, transported to Turkey via the Silk Road. He felt stronly curious and began to long for visiting this distance oriental place in China. At university, he studied ceramic arts and in 2009 he was able to visit Jing DE zhen personally and furthered his higher education here. After graduation, he set up his own workshop and he ha visited numerous Chinese musuems to appreciate the beauty and artistic tastes of different Chinese dynasties through the unearthed cultural relics.

　　Ekrem’s experiences in China has deepened his understanding about the traditional Chinese Culuture. This exhibition in Hong Kong shows a woderful combination of Turkish ad Chinese emblazonry patterns while reserving the distinctive characteristics of each of the two civilizations.
